Is The Mediterranean Diet Just Another Ridiculous Diet?11.09.09

My doctor wants me to follow the Mediterranean diet for 2 weeks to monitor my blood sugar. But that just seems stupid because it is LESS healthy than my current diet!
I’m all about clean eating: fresh fruits/produce, lean proteins, egg whites, no artificial crap and no soda. So if my diet is already super healthy, isn’t ridiculous to ask me to change????
